unix virtual server

Each night, the Virtual Server's directory structure is copied to /backup/home/login_name. Prior to the copy, the contents of /backup/home/login_name are compressed into a tar file which also gets archived on tape. Restoring files from the different locations would be difficult without a utility called getback. To restore a file with getback, Telnet to the server and change to the directory where the file is located and then type getback filenameor getback directory-name. It will list the times and dates available from /backup/home, /usrbackup, and tape. There is a charge for recovering some of the older files, getback will say fee on the line if there is an associated charge.
